Remembering Laëtitia

Our teammate Laëtitia Graffart left a lasting impression on Berlin’s comics scene. Bringing French and German comics culture together was something that was particularly close to her heart. You could see it in the regularly published bilingual comics anthology “Beton”, which featured both German and French artists. Or at the Modern Graphics comics shop on Kastanienallee, which she helped set up and ran for three years, and where she established and curated a section dedicated to French-language comics. She also organized readings there, as well as a Franco-German comics Stammtisch.

We are still angry and sad over the loss of our friend and colleague. Laëtitia was unique and is irreplaceable. The pain is immense. In honor of her exceptional work and passion, we will be presenting a small exhibit of portraits drawn by local comic artists.

The German Comics Association has created the FondsBeton in her memory to support Franco-German comics projects.
