KutiKuti X Femicomix Finland – a Finnish collective comic invasion of neurotitan Gallery
Two intriguingly overlapping comic collectives from deep dark Finland take over the labyrinth of neurotitan Gallery on Friday 10 May as a part of ComicInvasionBerlin 2024.
Kutikuti is a non-profit contemporary comics association and artist collective formed in Finland in 2005. The core of Kutikuti consists of ca. 50 members who make, teach, and publish comics. Kutikuti has over a hundred supportive members around the world and has quickly become one of the most recognized marvels of the Finnish comics scene abroad. They operate internationally with an aim to maintain and develop comics as an art form.
Femicomix Finland is a collective of feminist-minded comic artists and activists. They do workshops, events, exhibitions, publications, publicity, socializing and support, and in the past have organized a festival and two residencies. Femicomix Finland is antiracist, inclusive, and aims to make all activities accessible to everyone – anyone into antiracist and feminist comics is welcome to join!
Both collectives come together at neurotitan to present works by Emmi Valve, Jyrki Nissinen, Johanna Rojula aka roju, Nina Mutik, Shambhavi Singh and many others.
