Berlin has a vibrant comics scene and many local comic artists had, but for many years had no proper platform where the local scene can meet and network and all artists and publishers can present their new work
This gap is closed by ComicInvasion (for the first time in 2012), with a festival that besides the common book tables offers all kinds of events, where the comic medium is entertainingly brought into action.
Furthermore, there is an exhibitions, drawing battles, book signings, mini-concerts, a comics exhibition in the basement, a comic quiz with prizes, a children’s character area, a big satellite events program in Berlin comic locations and a comic competition whose winning works will be presented in a ComicInvasionBerlin contest comic book. As part of the comic contest CIB since 2015 also gives out the Berlin Comic Förderpreis, a stipend with which upcoming comic artists can realise a new comic project.
ComicInvasion sees itself as a platform primarily for the local Berlin scene, a festival of comic interested for comic enthusiasts. Anyone who wants to join or to show his work, has that opportunity.
The CIB20 will take place on November 28th and 29th in the Museum for Communication. More information will follow.
ComicInvasion is supported by the Haupstadtkulturfonds.
