CIB Comic Contest 2024

The ComicInvasionBerlin 2024 comic contest

“Is this the future or is it trash?”

The world is burning—where can we find hope? Climate catastrophe can no longer be averted, it’s just a matter of how bad it gets and for whom first. Wars and conflicts seem to repeat themselves continually in a loop, contrary to all the lessons of history. Some of us have given up, others engage as activists, artists, punks or within their circle of friends. How are you dealing with all of this? Where do you find hope, what keeps you going?

Create a 1 or 2-page-long comic story in a 20 x 20 cm format on the topic of hope versus giving up, by March 3 2024, and win awesome prizes!

ComicInvasionBerlin, Berlin’s largest comics festival, is organizing its own comic contest again in 2024. Selected comics will be exhibited at the festival in May 2024 and recognized in an awards ceremony, presented digitally on our homepage, and published in a book!

The prizes include non-cash prizes, workshops and—as the main prize for adult participants—mentoring from professional comic creators with the goal of starting a larger comic project and thus possibly apply for the comics grant from the Berlin Senate Department for Culture.

Berliners of all ages can participate.

Age groups:

  2. 14 to 17 years
  3. 18 years and up
